Apple Pie Filling (Trisha1972)

App. 3 pounds pie apples peeled, cored, and sliced (I like Prima or Granny Smith)
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 T ground cinnamon
1 t vanilla
3/4 c dark brown sugar (can use light if it is all you have)

Mix together pour into pie crust.
Roll out other 1/2 of pie dough, and top pie. Pinch edges together. Brush top with egg wash. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Cut a few slits in top of crust. I also use either a knife or mini cutters to make leaves to place on top. Again brush with egg wash and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar

Bake at 375 for about 50-65 minutes. Make sure to cover edges 1/2 thru cooking so they don't burn.
